About The Cross Project

I was sitting in a church service out of town one Sunday when the pastor showed a video called "The Crowd or the Cross." It's from a ministry that supplies videos for sermon illustrations. It's called Igniter Media. Maybe you've heard of them.

After seeing the video, I had an idea: why not take pictures of every cross I found: shadows on a wall, cracks in a sidewalk, ceiling tiles...anything. And once I started really looking, I realized that crosses where everywhere. It's kind of like God Himself. He's everywhere, too...you just have to open your eyes and look for Him.

So I did it. I opened my eyes. I took the pictures and posted them on this blog. But after awhile, like anything, the process became tedious. I had my regular blog, plus my job as a writer. Eventually, The Cross Project sort of faded away.

Once I joined Twitter, however, it became clear how easily it could be revived. And so, I started Twitter.com/TheCrossProject. The plan is to take pictures with my Blackberry, upload to Twitpic (which will then show on its Twitter stream) and share what I find. In the meantime, I'll take higher quality pictures with my camera to upload on this site here. Combine that with a Twitter button here, and we're all covered.

So, what's the point? To tell others about Jesus, of course. Who He is. How He can change your life. And He did it through the Cross.

Cool idea, but why'd you stop after only five? I hope you'll post some more cross photos. God bless you!
